The Perfect Place For Every Child

EDUCATIONAL FARM

At Tenuta Della Casa we invite children and adults to slow down, observe, and learn in nature. From bees and pollinators to small farm animals and woodland habitats, each activity is designed to nurture curiosity, respect for the environment, and a tangible understanding of local ecology.

Our Treasure Trove of Biodiversity — La Pineta dai Novai

At Tenuta Della Casa, La Pineta dai Novai is a living classroom where children and adults connect with nature and see how healthy habitats sustain the vineyard. Starting with our bees and their honey, and continuing with gentle companions—goats, donkeys, ponies and mini-ponies—plus a colourful community of rabbits, peacocks, chickens, ducks, and geese, every encounter is guided, age-appropriate, and kind. We share simple, practical ways to protect natural balances and respect every species. Curiosity leads; care follows.

Grooming and gentle handling (animal-led, short intervals)
Egg collection and coop care (seasonal)
Behaviour & body-language basics
Habitat upkeep and enrichment tasks
Short nature journal: draw, label, reflect

The EcosystemDiscover Balance and Biodiversity

A guided exploration of Tenuta Della Casa’s living mosaic—where vineyards, meadows, woodland, and wetlands support each other in harmony. Simple field methods help reveal the hidden links between nature and culture.

Habitat spotting: meadow, hedgerow, vineyard edge, wetland
Soil and water cycle demonstrations
Pollinator and wildlife observation (bees, insects, birds)
Identifying biodiversity corridors and micro-ecosystems
Quiet listening: birdsong, insects, wind, water

“There’s a Bee in the Woods”

Meet pollinators and taste their work.
An engaging introduction to bees and their neighbours: how pollination works, why flowers matter, and what we can do to help. We observe the apiary area at a safe distance, handle beekeeping tools, and finish with a honey tasting that explores aroma, texture, and seasonality.

Activities may include
Life inside the hive: roles, dance, and teamwork (show & tell)
Bee-friendly plants: colours, shapes, and scents
Build a simple bee hotel or seed balls (seasonal)
Honey tasting: compare floral sources and talk terroir
Safety: no hive opening during public visits; protective distance maintained. Please inform us of any allergies in advance.
